My current obsession: Red Lips
A vibrant red lips is classic yet current, and never fails to look downright amazing.
Red lips are commonly frustrating and frightening for many women everywhere, however when used correctly, it can dominate everybody’s attention wherever you go. Don’t believe me? Consider the fact that red lips are the fashion industry’s favorite and they appear on the runways nearly every single season. Retro glamour is set to be huge news for Spring / Summer 2012 with Jason Wu, Christian Dior and John Paul Gaultier [above] producing their individual takes on the set waves and red lip combo.
“What looks modern is to pair red lips with minimal eye makeup,” explains Poppy King, creator of Lipstick Queen. “This avoids looking too retro or heavy.” Val Garland, artistic adviser of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, agrees: “It works especially well with a nude eye framed with a defined brow.”
Unlike other trends, red lips look good on everyone. The trick is finding the perfect red shade for you. If you have pale skin, try blue-based reds, and if you have olive or dark skin, orange-based reds usually look best
